I refer to my process as “Ecofeminist Action Painting”, a term which combines ecofeminism, Feminist Actionism and action painting. My works tackle the human/nonhuman relationship to nature through the “free handling” of natural matter so as to re-envision our relationship to nature. My ultimate belief is that painting (the act of as well as the witnessing of) is one crucial, critical method for expanding human consciousness to the necessary amplitude for attaining a more harmonious and intimately connected human-nature future. This is where my mission as a painter comes in, and where my absolute resolve to advance artistically is driven from. It is by working from within that I take the great leap, experimenting, challenging, and uplifting my own consciousness by way of painting.
